Dwayne Selby

Dwayne Selby is the Founder and Director of Basketball at UPrep Canada Basketball Club, a program dedicated to providing structured, high-impact basketball development and mentorship for youth athletes. His leadership centers on creating safe, positive, and growth-oriented environments where athletes can develop skills, confidence, and life habits through sport.

Coach Dwayne’s work integrates skill training with mentorship, goal-setting, and progress tracking, helping athletes build resilience, accountability, and long-term development pathways. UPrep’s model is designed to support youth development, access to quality coaching, and sustainable community impact. Through UPrep Dwayne creates and supports athletes in navigating post secondary playing opportunities, while also creating pathways that prepare athletes for competitive high school, prep, and post-secondary basketball environments. His work bridges on-court performance with off-court growth, positioning athletes for sustained success.

“My goal is to create individuals who will be successful in any path they chose to follow in life. I use basketball as the vehicle to teach my players the importance of character, work ethic, and leadership, among many other qualities. My passion is teaching individuals not only how to dream big and aim high, but more importantly how to go about achieving whatever goals you set for yourself! I want to have kids develop discipline and a relentless work ethic, by teaching them the game I love. Coaching for me has become more than just teaching the game of basketball.”
